Interest Mitigation Psychological Warfare

While it may be true that reports of civilian casualties as a result of air strikes in Syria by the Russians were written in advance and accidentally released prematurely by media outlets, the unintended consequences of premature press releases deserves some attention.

This report sticks a pin of skepticism in potential future reports. Maybe the technique should be called "Interest Mitigation" which causes readers to later unconsciously skip over similar reports in the future?
